Brief History


The 28th Regiment, Illinois Infantry was organized at Camp Butler, Illinois, and mustered in August 15, 1861.  It mustered out March 15 and discharged at Camp Butler, Illinois, May 13, 1866. [1]

Companies in this Regiment with County of Origin
