- Rosters Companies
Many of the personnel had previously served in the 1st Battalion. The company names did not necessarily transfer to the new companies organized when the 2nd Regiment was formed. Trussell concluded that the 1st Battalion recruited in Philadelphia County, Berks County, Bucks County, and possibly Northampton County.
- Company A - Captain William Allen Jr. of Philadelphia (owned land in Northampton County), Captain Benjamin Davis
- Company B - Captain Jonathan Jones of Berks County
- Company C - Captain William Williams (perhaps of Berks County)
- Company D - Captain Josiah Harmar of Philadelphia
- Company E - Captain Thomas Dorsey of Philadelphia
- Company F - Captain William Jenkins of Philadelphia, Captain Jacob Ashmead
- Company G - Captain Augustin Willet of Bucks County
- Company H - Captain Marien Lamar of Philadelphia
