Aberkenfig Resource CentreEdit This Page
From FamilySearch Wiki
The Aberkenfig Resource Centre is staffed and operated by the Glamorgan Family History Society. The centre is located in the village of Aberkenfig in Bridgend, just a sort distance from the M4 motorway.
The best research tools available at the Aberkenfig Resource Centre are the volunteers who staff the centre. Access to the computer databases produced from the multitude of indexes transcribed for Glamorgan family historians makes a visit to the centre as important as a visit to the county archives.
Be sure to ask Gwyn or one of the other friendly volunteers for a search in MIMI, the Glamorgan Master Index to Monumental Inscriptions. Another gem is the society's Pedigree Collection. Access to these and other databases are open to visitors at the centre.
For people who can not visit the centre, membership in the society allows you to request lookups in these and other resources produced by the society. Anyone searching for ancestors from Glamorgan should consider becoming a member of the Glamorgan Family History Society.
