Age of Majority by State - 2009

The age of majority is determined by each state.  Factors influenced by the age of majority: voting rights, age;to marriage, own property, joining the army, a judge may declare a minor emancipated, he or she may receive majority at the same time.

The age of majority may have varied historically.
