Bath BMD web site, part of the UKBMD group of Family History and Genealogy web sites.
The Register Offices in the county of Bath, England, hold the original records of births, marriages and deaths back to the start of civil registration in 1837.
Independent volunteers have collaborated with the local Registration Service to make the indexes to these records freely searchable via the Internet.
The database covers Bath and North East Somerset births, marriages and deaths for the years 1837 to 2007. (Marriages will continue to be added as registers are completed.)
The site contains content tables which also contains the reference for each index for each marriage place, civil registration office or authorised person marriage in the many chapels and synagogues in the district.
Bath BMD is the first UK registration district to have complete index of Births Marriage and Deaths.
Bath BMD has been in continuous operation since 26 April 2004
