Parish History

BORDEN (St. Peter and St. Paul), a parish, in the union and hundred of Milton, Upper division of the lathe of Scray, E. division of Kent, 2¾ miles (W. by S.) from Sittingbourne. [1]


Borden is a village and civil parish in the Swale district of Kent, immediately south west of Sittingbourne, see Borden Kent Wikipedia

Borden St Peter and St Paul is an Ancient Parish in the Diocese of Canterbury which includes the hamlets of Heart's Delight Chestnut Street and Oad Street in the Swale District of Kent.A map of the parish boundary is available at A church near you

The parish church dates from the 12th century with additions in subsequent centuries and has been designated a grade I listed building by English Heritage British listed building.

The village and civil parish are immediately south west of the centre of Sittingbourne and part of the urban area although historically a largely agricultural village neighbouring the town.
