History

Buffalo County, North Dakota was formed 09 Mar 1883 from Dakota territory. From 1883-1889 there were attempts to changed the county adding and removing territory, territory that now is part of both North and South Dakota. More detail is available in reference link here. On 02 Nov 1889 Buffalo County was made a county in South Dakota. [1]
