| [Description of the state] General InformationWith its capital in Valencia, - “the Fiancée of the Sun” - , Carabobo State is characterized by its rich historical tradition. North center is located in the coastal region, between Mountain ranges of the Coast and the Interior, crossed by the gorge of Carabobo. It limits with the states of Guárico and Cojedes to the south, with Yaracuy to the west, Aragua to the east, and to the north, with the Caribbean.The battles of Carabobo of 1814 and 1821 gained by Simón Bolívar to the Spaniards in the fights by independence grant to the state an important historical meaning.
