History

Castleterra is a parish in the barony of Upper Loughtree. The living is a rectory and vicarage, in the diocese of Kilmore, and in the patronage of the Bishop.

The Roman Catholic parish of Castletara follows the same boundaries of Castleterra and is in the diocese of Kilmore.

Localities

The parish of Castleterra is surrounded by the parishes of Annagelliff, Annagh, Drung, and urney. It is in the poor law union of Cavan.
