Business/Announcements

Improve the Wiki

  • Family History Centers - how can we help them?  They are an extremely valuable resource.
  • Greatest untapped resource we have
  • In 2012, we need to show them how we can help them, what we have to help them with research
  • Steve & Vickie Funk have laid the groundwork with the Wiki trainer program. They have worked with 2-300 people from FHC's
  • Contact people who have worked with the Funk's and we need to be able to give them all the help and service possible.
  • We need to help right away, especially if they're trying to help a patron at the time they contact us.
  • Create unique classes for FHC's
  • Forge relations with them to give them unique help for the Wiki
  • Create Research Help Center similar to Contributor's Help Center?
  • User training lesson plan (Jane)
  • Pages that have the delete template on them need to have the links removed before the template is added - we need to get contributors to do that
  • Keep an eye on pages with Help Me template on them
  • Page for suggestions
  • If using information from a Creative Commons site, we don't have to cite the source and information can be copied and pasted. It would be good practice (common courtesy) to source it. It would save work on Citations needed page.
