DOBCROSS, an ecclesiastical district, in the chapelry of Saddleworth, parish of Rochdale, Upper division of the wapentake of Agbrigg, W. riding of York, 11 miles (N. E.) from Manchester. 
Dobcross Holy Trinity is an Ecclesiastical Parish in the county of Yorkshire, created in 1797 from Rochdale Ancient Parish.It is currently in Saddleworth Deanery, part of the Archdeanery of Rochdale, in the Anglican Diocese of Manchester.
Historically a part of the West Riding of Yorkshire, Dobcross was anciently a chapelry in the Quickmere division of Saddleworth. For centuries, Dobcross was a hamlet, sustained by domestic flannel and woollen cloth production. Many of the original 17th and 18th century barns and weavers' cottages survive today as listed buildings.
Dobcross is a village in Saddleworth—a civil parish of the Metropolitan Borough of Oldham, in Greater Manchester, England. It is located in a valley in the South Pennines, along the course of the River Tame and the Huddersfield Narrow Canal, west-southwest of Huddersfield.

Known issue The initial loading of images for the parish registers results in "image unavailable " message for the parish. This is a known issue awaiting future engineering. The collection images were loaded in November 2010 and the indexing of parish registers has been undertaken by FamilySearch Indexing. When the index is published it is intended to attach images to the index.
