Location: One mile west of the Canadian River near Eagle Rock Mountains. 30 miles east of Springer off US56. The Mansion is a privately owned residence and is not open to the public. The nearest summit is Point of Rocks Mesa.

Details: Named for Dorsey Lake a small lake 2 miles south of Koehler Junction, on Crow Creek Flats. Named for Stephen W Dorsey, US Senator for the Stateof Arkansas, co-owner of the Ingersol-Dorsey-Alley Ranch. Dorsey founded the Star Mail Route. When Ingersoll successfully defended Dorsey in a suit over fraudulant mail contracts, Dorsey paid him with 5,000 acres of land and some cattle. Dorsey arrived with interest in cattle and the railroad and lived near Raton.
The Dorsey Mansion, started construction in 1878 as a 2 story log house, which was completed in 1880. In 1884 the stone castle structure included faces of his wife Helen, his brother, John, and himself, carved in stone on the castle tower. A few of the amenities of this once magnificent house were: an art gallery, billiard room, llibrary, 9 bedrooms, a 60 guest dining room, servant quarters, and the first indoor bathroom. At its height, Dorsey became a shipping center for cattle. Clay Allison, a known Cimarron gunfighter, who knew Colonel Ingersoll from the Civil War in Tennessee, lived in Dorsey for a time. Several canyons, creeks, and mountains in the area are named after him.
