Description

To add some instructions to each town and city page in the wiki to facilitate finding transcribed church and cemetery records and the collections or repositories where they are found.

Instructions

1. Go to the wiki and type in Albany County, New York and go to that page. Click on the "Places" in the Table of Contents. This will take you to the "Municipalities and communities" chart. For each county, you will put the appropriate template on each town/city page.

2. Go to the first City listed (or Town if there are no cities). In wiki text add "Town Records" as a heading 3 listed after the "City/Town Historian". IF THIS IS A CITY INSTEAD USE, "CITY RECORDS"

3. Use the appropriate templates according to the first letter of the town/city name in wiki text:

a. Town/Cities starting with the letter, A:
{{NYTownGuideA}}
b. Town/Cities starting with the letter, B:
{{NYTownGuideB}}
c. Town/Cities starting with all other letters, replacing the lower case "c" with the appropriate beginning letter in lower-case of the town/city:
{{NYTownGuide|c}}

4. Save the page.

5. Make sure the link "American Ancestors online edition" works in the template. If it doesn't, contact Danielle Batson.

6. If it works, continue with each town/city for that county.
