This task involves searching for vital records available on FamilySearch Historical Records Collection to be placed on county and town pages.


1. Search FamilySearch Historical Records to locate any county specific databases. The statewide databases are entered as part of the Intro task, so do not duplicate them. As you find the county specific databases, put them in chronological order. Also bullet and indent each entry. The date should in bold and put first. Make sure to use the N–dash between the dates and anytime the dash is needed in wiki text. The N–dash is made by holding the alt key and typing 0150. Use the following RecordSearch template as a guide to add each database:

2. For the following counties:
Allegany, Broome, Cattaraugus, Cayuga, Chautauqua, Chemung, Chenango, Clinton, Columbia, Delaware, Essex, Fulton, Genesee, Greene, Hamilton, Jefferson, Lewis, Madison, Monroe, Montgomery, Nassau, Niagara, Oneida, Ontario, Orange, Orleans, Oswego, Otsego, Putnam, Rockland, Saratoga, Schenectady, Schuyler, Seneca, St. Lawrence, Steuben, Sullivan, Tioga, Tompkins, Warren, Washington, Wayne, Westchester, and portions of Wyoming,br>

Add this template in chronological order under the Marriage heading:

3. Locate county databases on RecordSearch by doing the following:

i. Choose “Records” on the [http:/ FamilySearch] website
ii. Then click on USA, Canada, Mexico located under the phrase “Browse by Location.”
iii. First find New York and then determine if there are any records which would include the county or towns for which you are searching. Use the template above in Number 1 as a guide.
