FamilySearch Wiki talk:Names, Personal vs Names PersonalEdit This Page

From FamilySearch Wiki

In the course of putting in Place template, a problem had been noted.

Right now there are 27 using "Names, Personal" while 11 using "Names Personal" without the comma.

The request is to make it a standard in order to do an uniform integration of related pages.

Wouldn't the same kind of problem arise for Names, Geographical vs. Names Geographical? Diltsgd 03:27, 19 August 2009 (UTC)

Unoh!, I see there are two of them, Nederlands (sorry, that's how I have been spelling it long time) and Czech Republic. It would be same type of problem. Better decide which one to use (I prefer no comma). In fact the discussion was in weekly user group about the diatrics in the urls, to do away with them but leave diatrics in the articles. Larry and Baerbel as well I agreed on no funny "ss" in Preussen urls. dsammy 04:35, 19 August 2009 (UTC)

In some of the British countries I think I saw it rendered Personal Names. Diltsgd 20:45, 19 August 2009 (UTC)

I ran a search for that, there aren't any with that, it is just "Names, Personal" or "Names Personal" in urls.
Does Abbreviations Lists for Personal Names (English) count? Diltsgd 23:26, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
No, they are different from the Names Personal because they deal with the given names and how they are abbreviated while Names Personal deal with how the names are in non-English and how the names are formed and how they are based on various cultural aspects. dsammy 00:52, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
