Citing records from another language
Some of the records collections pages are being copied and translated to the Spanish wiki. The names of the collections are being transcribed into Spanish. My question is: When instructing readers on how to Cite FamilySearch Collections should they cite a translated name of the collection or leave the collection name in English.
The issue I have with citing a translated name is that the same word or phrase can often be translated several different ways. If collection names are translated in citations they then need to be re-translated back into English for anyone trying to order the collection or locate the collection at the library. The re-translated name may not be the same as the original name making it difficult to locate the correct collection. Does anyone have any idea how citations of collections with a foreign language name should be handled? Lotje2 18:22, 8 July 2012 (UTC)
