Glasnevin Cemetery is a significant Dublin municipal cemetery with over 1,000,000 graves. The Glasnevin Cemetery Group includes Glasnevin, Dardistown, Newlands Cross and Palmerstown Cemeteries and Crematoriums. 

More than 1,000,000 burial records have been digitized covering all the cemetery records from the present back to 1898. Work continues to digitize the remaining records back to 1832 when the cemetery opened.

The Glasnevin Cemetery site includes a database of 1,000,000 cemetery and crematoria records from 1898 to the present. Work continues to digitize records prior to 1898.

Using the site:

Use the genealogy tab on the upper right side of the page to access the search dialog box. The site searches the three years before and after the year entered in the search box. An advanced seach feature is available from the results window of a basic search.

Cost

There is no charge to perform a basic search which yields surname, first name, address (city only), location, year of death, burial or cremation and single grave or multiple grave. There is a fee to retrieve detailed information including last known address and date of burial.
