Hamlin, also known as Hamlen, is a town in northeast Aroostook County. In 1843 it was first organized as part of Van Buren Plantation from Township Letter G R1. It was set off as Hamlin Plantation from part of Van Buren Plantation in 1859; set off some of its land to Van Buren in 1907; and incorporated as a town in 1976.
