Parish History

HEMSWORTH (St. Helen), a parish, in the wapentake of Staincross, W. riding of York, 6½ miles (S. S. W.) from Pontefract; containing 1005 inhabitants. The parish includes the hamlet of Little Hemsworth. [1]
