IDLE, a chapelry, in the parish of Calverley, union of Bradford, wapentake of Morley, W. riding of York, 3½ miles (N. by E.) from Bradford. This township, which includes the village of Windhill, and the hamlets of Thackley, Thorpe, Simpson's-Green, Parkhill, Cross-Keys, Buckmill, and Wroose. There are places of worship for Independents, Baptists, and Primitive and Wesleyan Methodists.
