- 1st Regiment, Illinois Light Artillery
First known as Smith's Chicago Light Artillery.
Entered State service for three months, April 17, 1861.
Mustered out at Chicago, Illinois, July 3, 1865.
Thereafter Batteries were organized and mustered in at various times and places.
Batteries also mustered out at various times and places.
- 2nd Regiment, Illinois Light Artillery
Organized at Peoria, Illinois, and mustered into State service May 23, 1861.
Duty in District of Southeast Missouri till July, 1863.) Battery mustered out July 28, 1865.
- Chapman's Peoria Independent Battery Light Artillery
Organized from 14th Illinois Infantry and attached to that Regiment until February, 1862, when designated Battery "B," 2nd Light Artillery.
- Chicago Board of Trade Battery, Illinois Light Artillery
Organized at Chicago, Illinois, and mustered in August 1, 1862.
Moved to Nashville, Tennessee, thence to Chicago, Illinois, June 23-27.
Mustered out June 30, 1865.
- Chicago Mercantile Battery, Illinois Light Artillery
Organized at Chicago, Illinois, and mustered in August 29, 1862.
Served in various locations. At New Orleans, Louisiana in June 1865, then ordered home for muster out.
Mustered out at Chicago, Illinois, July 10, 1865.
- Cogswell's Independent Battery, Illinois Light Artillery
Organized at Ottawa, Illinois, and mustered in November 12, 1861, as Company "A" Artillery, 53rd Regiment, Illinois Infantry. March to Montgomery April 13-25, and duty there until July.
Mustered out August 14, 1865.
- Elgin Battery (5th Independent), Illinois Light Artillery
Organized at Elgin, Illinois, and mustered in November 15, 1862.
Served in various places and had duty in the Department of North Carolina until July 1865.
Mustered out July 18, 1865.
- Henshaw's Independent Battery, Illinois Light Artillery
Organized at Ottawa, Illinois, and mustered in December 3, 1862.
Garrison duty at Loudon, Tennessee, and other points in District of East Tennessee until July, 1865.
Mustered out July 18, 1865.
- Smith's Battery A, Chicago, Illinois Light Artillery
Entered State service for three months April 17, 1861.
Duty in District of Cairo, Illinois, until July1861.
Mustered out July 16, 1861
- Vaughn's Independent Battery, Illinois Light Artillery
Organized at Springfield, Illinois, and mustered in August 21, 1862.
Served in various places then had duty at Little Rock until June, 1865.
Ordered to Springfield, Illinois, June 25, and mustered out June 30, 1865.
- Veteran Battalion, 14th and 15th Regiment, Illinois Infantry
