Regiments 127th through 136th

  • 127th Regiment, Illinois Infantry
    Organized at Camp Douglas, Illinois, and mustered in September 6, 1862.
    March to Washington, D. C., via Richmond, Virginia, April 29-May 19. Grand Review May 24.
    Mustered out June 4 and discharged at Chicago, Illinois, June 17, 1865.
  • 128th Regiment, Illinois Infantry
    Organized at Camp Butler, Illinois, and mustered in November 4, 1862.
    Attached to District of Columbus, Kentucky, 16th Army Corps, Dept. of the Tennessee.
    Disbanded April 1, 1863, by order of Gen. Grant, having lost in 5 months over 700 men, principally by desertion, and the Officers having proved themselves utterly incompetent, were mustered out of service. The few remaining men were consolidated into a Detachment and consolidated with 9th Illinois Infantry April 1, 1863.
  • 129th Regiment, Illinois Infantry
    Organized at Pontiac and mustered in September 8, 1862.
    Moved to Washington, D. C., via Richmond, Virginia, April 29-May 19. Grand Review May 24.
    Mustered out June 8, 1865.
  • 130th Regiment, Illinois Infantry
    Organized at Camp Butler, Springfield, Illinois, and mustered in October 25, 1862.
    Regiment reorganized at Mobile July 11, 1865.
    Ordered to New Orleans and mustered out August 15, 1865.

Regiments 147th through 156th

  • 147th Regiment, Illinois Infantry (1 year, 1865)
    Organized at Camp Fry, Chicago, Illinois, for 1 year February 18, 1865. Moved to Louisville, Kentucky, thence to Nashville, Tennessee, February 21-25, and to Chattanooga, Tennessee and Dalton, Georgia, February 27-28. Attached to 1st Brigade, 2nd Separate Division, District of the Etowah, Dept. of the Cumberland, to July, 1865. Dept. of Georgia to January, 1866.
    Mustered out January 20, 1866. Moved to Springfield, Illinois, January 23-31.
    Discharged February 8, 1866.
  • 151st Regiment, Illinois Infantry (1 year, 1865)
    Organized at Quincy, Illinois, and mustered in for 1 year's service February 23, 1865.
    Moved to Columbus, Ga., July 28-31, and duty there until January, 1866.
    Mustered out January 24, 1866. Discharged February 8, 1866.
  • 154th Regiment, Illinois Infantry
    Organized at Camp Butler and mustered in February 21, 1865.
    Moved to Tullahoma, Tennessee., May 13-15; thence to Nashville June 11 and Garrison duty there until September.
    Mustered out September 18, 1865.
  • 155th Regiment, Illinois Infantry
    Organized at Camp Butler and mustered in February 28, 1865. SERVICE.-Guard Block Houses on Nashville camp; Chattanooga R. R. by Detachments from Nashville to Duck River until September.
    Mustered out September 4, 1865.
  • 156th Regiment, Illinois Infantry
    Organized February 16, 1865. Moved to Nashville, Tennessee, and attached to 3rd Brigade, 2nd Separate Division, District of the Etowah, Department of the Cumberland.
    SERVICE.-Engaged in guarding R.R. and Post duty in Department of the Cumberland until September.
    Mustered out September 20, 1865.
