1776--Kentucky County was created in 1776 from Fincastle County. See County Formations Database (Kentucky Land Office)
Boundary Changes
1780--Became extinct in 1780 when it was divided to form Fayette, Lincoln, and Jefferson counties, which are all currently in the State of Kentucky.
