Historical Overview

History

The civil parish of Killeevan is situated partly in the barony of Monaghan, but is mainly in the barony of Dartry, county of Monaghan, province of Ulster. The living is a rectory and vicarage in the diocese of Clogher.

In the Roman Catholic Church this parish is the head of a union that also includes the parish of Aughabog. The union has two chapels. The one located in this parish is in the townland of Killafuddy.
