History

L'Eau Qui Court County, Nebraska was formed 10 Feb 1857 from Pierce County and non-county area. Then in 13 Jan 1860 this county was redefined and gained territory from Cedar County and non-county area. Then on 02 Mar 1861 it lost territory to the creation of Dakota Territory. Holt County on 09 Jan 1862 was attached to it for for all judicial, revenue, and election purposes. [1] On February 18 ,1867 it was renamed Emmet County and on April 1, 1873 the name was changed to Knox_County.
