Parish History

LEYSDOWN (St. Clement), a parish, in the union, and liberty of the Isle, of Sheppy, Upper division of the lathe of Scray, E. division of Kent, 9 miles (E. by S.) from Queenborough. [1]
Leysdown St Clement was an Ancient parish in the village of Leysdown on the Isle of Sheppey.

The church was demolished in the 1980's the remaining graveyard is in High Street leysdown.

The parish was absorbed into the Eastchurch with Leysdown and Harty benefice.

Not all events are capable of search but the index is updated annually. Kent County Council (KCC) has a certificate centre at the Mansion House in Tunbridge Wells which holds all the completed registers for Kent since 1 July 1837 and can supply a certified copy of any Kent birth, death or marriage entry from any register within its custody or a Kent civil partnership registration from the government online database.
