Chapelry History

LIVERPOOL (St Matthew), Scotland Road, was created as a chapel of ease in 1812 from, and lying within the boundaries of Liverpool St Peter and St Nicholas Ecclesiastical Parish. It was built in the year 1798 and was also purchased from a congregation of dissenters. It was taken down in 1847 by the Bury Railway Company, who purchased in lieu of it the Scottish church called St. Peter's, in Scotland-road. The church closed in 1929.[1].
