How can Virginia tax lists help me?

Loudoun County's original personal property tax and land tax records have not been microfilmed by the Family History Library, but many published abstracts are available in its collection. The Library of Virginia's website includes inventories of Loudoun's personal property tax records (1782-1900) and land tax records (1782-1900).

Original Loudoun County tithe lists (1758-1799) are kept at the County Courthouse. Microfilm copy: FHL Film 31052.
