United States Maine Aroostook Macwahoc
Macwahoc is a Maine plantation in the forests on the south border of Aroostook County. Settled in 1835, then first organized from Township 1 Fourth Range West of the Easterly Line of the State (T1 R4 WELS) as a part of the larger Molunkus Plantation (which included TA R5 WELS), also known as South Molunkus Plantation, in 1844. In 1851 Macwahoc was set off and organized as a separate plantation. It was also reorganized in 1854, 1860, 1887, and continues today.
Records. Plantation records 1851-1893 including elections, warrants, proceedings of meetings, bills, lists of soldiers and voters, taxes, other town records; intentions of marriage and marriage records are housed in Macwahoc, Maine. The Family History Library has a microfilm copy on FHL Film 011561.
