The Miami Public Library has an excellent genealogical department with information for a wide area, but especially Ottawa County. They have obituaries back to 1900, with a few before that. They have information about the many tribes of Oklahoma. They have microfilm of the Miami newspaper, as well as donated family genealogies.

While the largest cemetery in Ottawa county has more than 18,000 burials, there are 107 cemeteries in the county - most of them very small. The Miami Library genealogy department has information about these many cemeteries.
