A River
- Missouri River, the longest or second longest river in the United States. It forms in the Rocky Mountains of southwest Montana near the town of Three Forks, rising in the Jefferson and Madison rivers and leaving the mountains near Great Falls. It flows east into North Dakota (Bismarck), turns southeast into South Dakota (Pierre), to become a border between parts of Nebraska (Omaha), Iowa (Council Bluffs), Kansas, and the state of Missouri. At Kansas City, the Missouri River turns east, flowing across Missouri state to join the Mississippi River north of St. Louis.
