Question #1: Some images found when browsing are upside down and backwards (mirror- image). Is there another way to view these images?
Answer #1: These images are available on microfilm which can be ordered and viewed. See NOTE above. If you don’t wish to order the film, rotating the image using the tools bar will allow you to view the image right side up, but the words are still backwards. It is difficult, but not impossible to read the image in this manner. You may try reading the text from a mirror image of your monitor.
Question #2: I am looking for Deed records for Albany County. Can you tell me where they are located?
Answer #2: The Deed records in the All Counties browse points are all from Albany County.
Question #3: I am looking for Mortgage records from Broome County. Can you tell me where they might be located?
Answer #3: There are Broome County Mortgage records misplaced in the Tioga County browse point as follows:

Question #4: I am looking for Deeds for the year 1883 v. 85 in Chautauqua County. Can you tell me where to find them?
Answer #4: Deeds 1857 v. 78 and 1883 v. 85 are on the same film. The images were all loaded in the browse point Deeds 1857 v. 78. The v. 85 images begin on Image 243 and go to the end of the browse point.
Question #5: The images loaded in the browse point Chautauqua > Deeds 1846-1853 vol 41 > are from Wayne County. Can I view the Chautauqua Deeds someplace else?
Answer #5: The Chautauqua > Deeds 1846-1853 vol 41 images are on film # 478723 that can be ordered and viewed. See NOTE above.
Question #6: In Chemung County I am finding records for many other counties. Can you clarify the correct counties for these records?
Answer #6: There are records for the counties of Schuyler, Steuben, Tioga and Tompkins incorrectly located in Chemung County. Most of the records are correctly labeled but are misplaced. In addition to those that are labeled the following folders below can be found:

Question #7: Are there images missing in Essex County?
Answer #7: Yes. Pages 80-83 that would fit between images 46 and 47 in the browse point Essex > Mortgagee index 1799-1860 vol 1 are missing online and on the microfilm. These images are not available for viewing.
Question #8: Where can I find Greene > Grantor index 1800 -1880 C-L records?
Answer #8: The Greene > Grantor index 1880 -1890 C-L browse point is mislabeled. The years should read 1800-1890.
Question #9: Can you tell me where to find the Mortgage Indexes for Genesee County?
Answer #9: The Mortgage Index for Grantees (Mortgagees) for Genesee County is currently loaded at the browse points Genesee > Grantee index 1802-1912 A-G, Grantee index 1802-1912 H-R, and Grantee index 1802-1912 S-Z. The Mortgage Index for Grantors (Mortgagors) is located in the browse points Genesee > Grantor Index 1802-1912 A-G, Grantor Index 1802-1912 H-R, and Grantor Index 1802-1912 S-Z.
Question #10: There seem to be many record types missing from the Oneida County browse point. Where can these missing records be found?
Answer #10: Many record types for Oneida County have been misplaced within the Herkimer County browse point , including Deeds, Grantee Indexes and Grantor Indexes.

There are two sets of Deed records identified in the Herkimer County Browse point and they are intermingled. The ones from Oneida County begin the series with
- Deeds 1791-1795 Vol 1-2
Deeds 1795-1797 Vol 3-4
Deeds 1796-1799 Vol 5-6
Deeds 1799-1801 Vol 7-8 and follow this sequence through Deeds 1900-1901 Vol 560
The Herkimer County series begins with
- Deeds 1804-1807 Vol 1-2
Deeds 1807-1810 Vol 3-4
Deeds 1810-1813 Vol 5-6
Deeds 1813-1815 Vol 7-8 and follow this sequence through Deeds 1899-1902 Vol 171
Please NOTE: Oneida County was created from Herkimer County in 1798. All records preceding that date would correctly be located in the Herkimer County browse point.
Question #11: I am looking for pages in Jefferson County that are missing. Can they be found somewhere else?
Answer #11: Pages 395-404 that would fit between images 507 and 508 in the Jefferson > Deeds 1832 vol I2-K2 browse point were missed in the original digitizing of this film. They were refilmed and are located on images 292-296 in the same browse point.
Question #12: Where can I find the Kings > Grantor index 1683-1867 D1 records?
Answer #12: The Kings > Grantor index 1683-1867 D1 records are located starting with Image 569-818 of Kings > Grantor index 1945-1949 C.
Question #13: I am trying to view Deeds in the Livingston > Deeds 1863-1867 vol 68-69 browse point, but I am seeing Danish images instead. Where can I find the deeds?
Answer #13: There has been an incorrect film loaded at this browse point. Until the problem is corrected you may order and view film #0510068. See NOTE above.
Question #14: There are missing pages in Onondaga County. Are they available for viewing elsewhere?
Answer #14: At the browse point Onondaga > Grantee index 1794-1870 vol 4, pages 1544 and 1545 were missed in the original filming, so are therefore not available for viewing online, nor are they available on the original microfilm for viewing. They would fit between images 370 and 371.
Question #15: I am looking in St. Lawrence County for the Deeds 1877 vol 105 B and C. Are they available somewhere?
Answer #15: Because of the title listing in the catalog these records are listed as Deeds 1867-1877 vol 105B-105C and are found in that browse point.
Question #16: I am looking for the Schuyler County Index Books. Can you tell me where to find them?
Answer #16: The Schuyler County Index Books are not online at this time. Film ## 83484 can be ordered and viewed. See NOTE above.
Question #17: In the New York, Land Records, 1630-1975 > Tompkins > Grantee Index (Ithaca) 1860-1913 H-Z browse point I can’t find images from T-Z. Are these available?
Answer #17: In this browse point the records are not consistently alphabetical. Images 250-361 are images from Se-Z, Images 362-363 are blank, Images 364-398 begin again with St and have a random listing of records from Sn-W.
Question #18: The browse points for the Grantor index, A-Dqz, 1685-1899, or the Grantee index, A-Dqz, 1685-1899 in Ulster County seem to be missing. Can you tell me where to view these records?
Answer #18: The records are there but labeled slightly differently. They are labeled as Grantee Index 1685-1899 vol 1-4 and Grantor Index 1685-1899 vol 1-4 instead of with the letters like the others in the browse point are.
Question #19: I am looking for Grantor Indexes in Westchester County for Greenburgh. Can you tell me where to find them?
Answer #19: The browse points below in Westchester County have been incorrectly labeled as Grantee Indexes. They should be labeled as Grantor Indexes.
