Question #1: The record for my ancestor in Seneca County in this collection appears to be a duplicate of the record in the New York, State Census, 1905 Collection. Can you explain this?
Answer #1: The 1905 and 1915 New York State Census records in Seneca County are on the same film and it appears the 1905 Census was Indexed twice rather than the 1915 Collection. The records will be duplicated with the exception of the estimated Birth date which would be 10 years different because the date is estimated from the year of the Census. To see the 1915 Census images you can order the film #501963 (See Ordering Microfilm or Microfiche) into a FamilySearch Center and view it there.
