Parish History

NEWPORT (St. Nicholas), an incorporated markettown, a parish, and the head of a union, in the Newportdivision of the hundred of South Bradford, N. division of Shropshire, 19 miles (E. N. E.) from Shrewsbury, and 139 (N. W. by N.) from London. [1]
