Noord-Holland Page
When a person moved from one parish to another the church would keep records of when a person moved in and where he/she came from, or when a person moved out and where to. This is very handy when you can't find any more records in the place where you have done research. These records are called'attestaties'. To find these records you have to go to the church records and look for 'Lidmaten' (Membershil) records. There is a web-site that deals partiularly with Lutherans who came from the Osnabrück, Germany area. Many people emigrated from Germany to the Netherlands. he web-site is: lutherans from the Osnabrücker Nordland Province Noord-Holland, attestations Lutherans from the Osnabrücker Nordland 1650-1850, go from 'databases' and 'bronnen' to 'regio Osnabrück' . Make sure you follow these instructions.
