Blackwell, Colin. From Wrexham to Fromelles ( a boy soldiers short life): Private Samuel Augustus Stewart Thomas, 1899-1916. Samuel Augustus Stewart Thomas was born into a military family. He lied about his age in order to join the Army at the age of 16. Illustrating the article are photographs of his father, Aloy augustus Stewart Thomas, 1871-1915 and his mother Florence Helena Williams 1871-1927. Also photos of their headstone, Queen Victoria's funeral cortege, and a present day photo of the battlefield at Pelliton in France, and a hand drawn map showing the order of battle, Fromelles, 19 July 1916.
