The Elwyn B. Robinson Department of Special Collections, Chester Fritz Library, University of North Dakota, has a large collection of maps and atlases. Among these are printed Sanborn Fire Insurance maps, highway maps, and other types of maps for North Dakota communities. In addition, the Department has atlases for many North Dakota counties (multiple years) and some for counties in northwest Minnesota.
The Family History Library has a collection of maps of North Dakota dating from 1860 to the present. Family History Library film 002083 contains atlases for the years 1862, 1878, 1884, and 1917, including maps of county boundaries and 1915 city populations.
The Family History Library has land plat maps and atlases for some North Dakota counties.
United States Census Bureau State and County Map. This map will allow you to zoom in on any state or county in the United States and read the names of all of the neighboring counties.
