The Palm Springs Field Office of the Bureau of Indian Affairs is a currently operating jurisdiction. Its supervising office is the Sacramento Area Office.

History

The Palm Springs Subagency operated under the Mission Agency from at least 1936 to 1964.

The Palm Springs Field Office now administers the reservation for the Aqua Caliente Band of Mission Indians[1].

Records

Some records of the Palm Springs Subagency, 1936-1964, are in the Pacific Regional Archives of the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) in Laguna Niguel, California. They are included in the records of the Mission Agency[2].
