Parish History

PENTONVILLE, a hamlet, in the parish of St. James, Clerkenwell, Finsbury division of the hundred of Ossulstone, county of Middlesex.[1]

Additional information:

St James Pentonville, otherwise known as Pentonville Chapel, was erected by the year 1789 (see also Clerkenwell St James). It was later divided by Christ Church, also known as St Silas, in 1863. Its sister parish church is St John Clerkenwell.
