Record Description

The collection contains images and an index of church books containing baptisms and births, marriages, burials, and deaths for the parishes in the Czestochowa Roman Catholic Dioceses of Poland. The text of these records is in Latin, Polish or Russian. Births and marriages end in 1912, and deaths in 1982. Record Content

Baptismal records found in this collection generally contain the following information:

  • Name of child
  • Name of parents
  • Date of birth
  • Child’s gender
  • Date of baptism

Marriage records found in this collection generally contain the following information:

  • Name and age of bride and groom
  • Names of bride’s parents
  • Names of groom’s parents
  • Date of marriage

Death records found in this collection generally contain the following information:

  • Name and age of deceased
  • Names of parents or spouse
  • Date of death
  • Gender of deceased

How to Use the Record

To search the collection you will need to follow this series of links:
⇒ Select the "Browse" link in the initial search page
⇒ Select the "Province" category
⇒ Select the "Place" category
⇒ Select the "Event/Years" category which takes you to the images.

Search the collection by image comparing the information with what you already know about your ancestors to determine which one is your ancestor. You may need to compare the information about more than one person to make this determination.

As you are searching it is helpful to know such information as your ancestor’s given name and surname, some identifying information such as residence and age, and family relationships. Remember that there may be more than one person in the records with the same name as your ancestor and that your ancestor may have used nicknames or different names at different times.
