Parish History

PORTLAND-TOWN, a metropolitan suburb and a chapelry in Marylebone parish, Middlesex. The suburblies W of Regent's park and S of the Northwestern railway, 3½ miles N W by W of St. Paul's. The chapelry was constituted in 1849.[1]

JOHN'S WOOD (ST.), a metropolitan suburb and three chapelries in Marylebone parish, Middlesex. The chapelries are Christ Chapel, All Saints, and St. Mark.[2]

St Stephen, St John's Wood Portland Town was a district church, built in the year 1846, which lay within the civil parish boundaries of St Marylebone.
