POUGHILL (St. Mary), a parish, in the union of Credition, hundred of West Budleigh, Crediton and N. divisions of Devon, 7 miles (N. by E.) from Crediton. The parish comprises by measurement 1662 acres, chiefly arable land. Here was formerly a chantry chapel, dedicated to St. John the Baptist.
