Church Records

Vol. 2 includes indexes.Includes history of the Methodist Episcopal Church in Pound Ridge and records of the Presbyterian Church in Pound Ridge 1760-1839. Vol. 1 contains various membership records, quarterly conference minutes, rolls of official members and pastors, historical records, and some death records 1833-1983, and the earliest records of the Presbyterian Church. Vol. 2 has title: Marriages, baptisms, deaths, 1850-1983, extracted from the records of the Methodist Episcopal/Community Church, Pound Ridge, New York. The original Stamford-Pound Ridge Circuit included Pound Ridge hamlet; Great Hill in the western part of the town of Pound Ridge; Selleck's Corners in the town of New Canaan, Fairfield County, Connecticut; and High Ridge and Hunting Ridge in the town of Stamford, Fairfield County, Connecticut. When the Presbyterian Church of Pound Ridge closed its doors thirty years ago, many of its members joined the Methodist Church across the road and helped to form the Community Church, which retains its Methodist Church connection. Vol. 1 has parts 1 & 2 bound together.
