Birth records from the city of Rawitsch 1661 to 1688

The author Erich Wentscher listed citizens, young men and women, from Rawitsch and surrounding area (not just villages but also little towns like Sarne and Görchen) who desired to move elsewhere. These young people were born between 1640 and 1650. The older records do not just give the names of the individuals concerned, but also their parents and even the father’s father. Later the records consistently reveal the names of the subject, the parents and two sets of grandparents. A true treasure trove for the family historian!
The lists are found in Archiv für Sippenforschung 12. Jahrgang Heft 1 (1935) starting with page 22 and were continued in the same periodical 13. Jahrgang Heft 1 (1936) starting with page 70. The author also published the oldest citizenship record of Rawitsch in existence. This record started with the year 1639 and was published in Archiv für Sippenforschung 10. Jahrgang pp. 177 to 206.

The periodical is available at the Family History Library in Salt Lake City, Utah at the International Floor under call number 943 B2as.
