Purchasing Microfilm in the Family History Library CollectionEdit This Page
From FamilySearch Wiki
Policy on buying a microfilm, or how to buy a microfilm from the Family History Library's collection.
The Family History Library does not sell microfilm to individuals. We sell copies only to nonprofit genealogical societies, public libraries, and educational institutions. One of these groups may already have a copy of the film or may be willing to purchase a copy that you can use. If they are willing to purchase the film, they will be required to obtain written permission from the custodian of the original records.
If you have further questions about purchasing records on microfiche or microfilm, contact:

You can contact the family history center in your area and order a copy of the film to search in the center. To find a center in your area, go to www.familysearch.org and type your locality into the box labeled Find a Family History Center Near Your Home. Each center has unique hours of operation. Call your local center for their scheduled hours before you visit.
