Record Description
This collection will include records from 1744 to 1874.
The collection consists of images of family lists for the tax paying population (about 95% of the population) conducted primarily in the years 1782, 1795, 1811, 1816, 1833-1834, 1850-1851, 1857-1858. Includes outlying years. Localities reflect the places that existed during the period of the Russian Empire as that is when the records were created.

These poll tax census records usually contain the following information:
- Name of head of household
- Names of household members
- Age of head of household
- Ages of household members
- Household member's relationship to the head of household
How to Use the Record
Search the Collection
To search the collection you will need to follow this series of links:
⇒Select the "Browse" link in the initial search page
⇒Select the Province (Губерния) category
⇒Select the District or City (Уезд или Город) category
⇒Select the Year/Vol (Даты/Том) category which takes you to the images.
Look at the images one by one, comparing the information with what you already know about your ancestors to determine which one is your ancestor. You may need to compare the information about more than one person to make this determination.
