Welcome!

This FamilySearch Center serves the area east of Wasatch Boulevard and south from Parley's Canyon to about 4800 South.

Location:

Open Hours:

  • Monday: 10 am - Noon; 1 pm - 3 pm
  • Tuesday: 2 pm - 4 pm; 7 pm - 9 pm
  • Wednesday: Noon - 2 pm; Wednesday evening reserved for groups
  • Thursday: 10 am - noon; 7 pm - 9 pm
  • Friday: 9 am - Noon
  • Other days and times by Appointment (801-520-7907)

In the case of bad weather and roads, please phone (801.274.0047) before you leave home to be sure the Center is open.

Holiday Schedule:

The Salt Lake Mt Olympus FamilyHistory Center is closed the weeks of Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years.  And on all major National and State holidays.

Present Schedule By Day Of The Week

Mondays

  • 10 am to noon   -  Remove the guilt while having fun with Family History. Bring in your problems-we’ll find solutions!
  • 1-3 pm  -  Using personal computers and becoming familiar with Familysearch.org

Tuesdays

  • 2-4 pm  -  How to search for ancestor records.

Wednesdays

  • 12 noon-2 pm  -   How to use ancestry.com

Thursdays

  • 10 am-noon  -  1. How to index.   2. How to scan and label photos and documents and post them to familysearch.org.
  • 7-9 pm  -  German and Swiss research

Fridays

  • 9-12 am  -  1. Writing your own personal life story.  2. How to compile and preserve family documents for a family history story.

Center Resources

Databases and Software

This center has access to the Family History Center Portal page which gives free access in the center to premium family history software and websites that generally charge for subscriptions.

Hardware and Equipment 

  • Six (6) MS Windows Desktop Computers.
  • Lexmark 466 printer/copier/scanner to add photos and documents directly to FamilySearch.  Also for general black and white printing.
  • HP Officejet 7610 printer/copier/scanner unit for 11 by 17 inch color fan charts.
  • Table workspace with power outlets and WIFI access for personal computers.
  • Overhead mounted projector and non-glare whiteboard screen for presentations.
