This ancient parish (AP) was created before 1813. Church of England records began in 1561.
SKERNE,a parish, in the union of Driffield,Bainton-Beacon division of the wapentake of Harthill, E. riding of York, 2¼ miles (S. E. by S.) from Great Driffield. The Wesleyans have a meeting-house.
