Parish History

Standon (St. Mary), is a parish, and formerly a market-town, in the union of Ware, hundred of Braughin, county of Hertford, it is 8 miles NE from Hertford; it contains the hamlets of Colliers-End, High-Cross, and parts of Puckeridge and Wadesmill. There is a place of worship for Baptists and Wesleyans.[1]
