Talk:England, Norfolk, Bishop's Transcripts (FamilySearch Historical Records)Edit This Page
From FamilySearch Wiki
Just an oddity I found while browsing England, Norfolk Marriage Bonds, 1557-1915, Norfolk, Diocese of Norwich, Consistory Court, 1719-1721: Image 268 of 494, for Edward Riches & Margt. Juby[?] of Marham is dated 24 Jun 1714 and filed amongst the bonds for 1719. Hope this can be of use to someone.
The examples given are generic international examples. In Uk genealogy we prefer to adopt the source citation of the the archive name/location, parish reference, volume, page and (where available ) the entry reference of the record.
The Source citation for these records should not be an online link and although it is possible to cite a GSU microfilm it is prefereable for any source citation to refer to the deposited record. It is also worth pointing out as a known issue that any previous source citation which involved Record Search is invalid.
Thank you for your thoughts. We are in the process of reformatting our source citations but it will be not happen overnight. We are thinking along the same lines as you are. Anyone can replace the generic examples with live ones and fix references to Record Search.

Norfolk Record Office LDS microfilming for whatever reason only included about three quarters of parishes in the Diocese of Norwich which were available. A distinct series of Archdeacon's transcripts and a further Bishop's Transcripts series are held. The existing statements about all these records needs updating Ginnel 14:27, 3 February 2012 (UTC)
